Vacation is cool but I don't care for the other two.

Dumb & Dumber is excellent. Vacation is very good and Fletch is just average in my opinion

I've never been a big fan of comedies. I do enjoy some of the older ones like Porky's, Weekend at Bernie's, The Vacation films, Scrooged, etc. but overall it's one of my least favorite genres.

Horror and Sci-Fi are my two favorite genres with Suspense Thrillers right behind them. Action would come in third place. But Comedy, Fantasy, Animated films, family films, etc. are just not for me most of the time. There's been a few exceptions but not many.

i don't consider science fiction to actually be a genre of it's own, as far as film goes. change my mind?

What's something like Blade Runner then? Too damn boring to be action or suspense.

Sci-Fi is a genre of it's own but it does crossover into other genres at times.

Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Andromeda, Farscape, Lost in Space, Stargate, etc. These are all hardcore sci-fi films and series.
An argument can be made that Star Wars also fits into fantasy due to the use of shit like the force but imo that would be a subgenre because it's core Sci-Fi.

As mentioned above the genre does often overlap often into other genres. Movie Examples, War of the Worlds, the Terminator and Predator franchises, the Alien films, Godzilla franchise, Marvel & DC films, and some examples of TV shows X-Files, Lost, Taken, Supernatural, The Flash, Dune, The Boys, etc.

boring does not remove something from a genre. :P but i think it's a mix of drama, mystery and suspense.

What about something like Gattaca? Where everything about it is futuristic and hinges on fictional science stuff.
