twisters was decent fun. but i feel like it was missing bill paxton and helen hunt.
Any nice references to them in the movie?
if it did, then i missed it. it did feature the same gadgets to release inside the tornado path. but that's it, as far as connecting to the previous movie. again, unless i missed it.
Then this movie can suck it. I'm out.
Oh dreary deary. Let us count the ways.
-Dorothy V is direct successor of Dorothy IV from the first movie.
-James Paxton, Bill's son, makes a cameo.
-Tyler's red truck is a nod to Bill's iconic red pickup truck in the original movie.
-There's a whole food "sustenance" scene direct homage to Dusty played by Philip Seymour Hoffman.
-Kate's outfit of a tank top, khaki pants, and overshirt is a nod to Jo's clothing in the original movie. The clothing worn by storm chasers Boone and Lily pays homage to Dusty.
-Kate's lawn is covered in sunflowers in a reference to the original movie's end scene in a sunflower field.
-The movie continues the Wizard of Oz homage that began in Twister, with Javi's Storm Par group using the codenames "Scarecrow," "Tin Man," and "Lion".
-Kate wears an oversized baseball jersey, which is the same style of jersey worn by a young boy in the final scene of Twister.
-Twister destroyed the Shining at the movies, this time it's Frankenstein.
I mean there is literally a thousand motherfucking things. But go on, listen to Twister extraordinaire zombs there.
