Scream 6 ✔️
Re: Scream 6 ✔️
A decent film but I don't see this franchise having much further to go. It's already in redundancy.

i like the movie well enough. the sisters are cool. the meeks brother and sister are cool. it was nice seeing kirby back. no sidney was a let down. and i don't like that this is the end of the storyline for some of those characters, seemingly. oh well.
Re: Scream 6 ✔️
The problem I have with this franchise is the constant copycat killers. Like how many Ghostface killers do we need? And how many does it take to finally kill the Sidney character? It's fucking ridiculous. Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers... those characters and their series were always set in the supernatural. Scream was in a real world setting from the get-go and should have been a 1 hit wonder only. Scream 2 was decent but the whole "mother wants revenge" plot wasn't anything special and with part 3 we get the "evil half sibling Sidney never knew about." Again, nothing truly innovative there. But when we get to the later squeals the franchise is literally living in redundancy.
It's not a terrible series but it's right there with the Saw movies in that it should have never gotten this far.

i understand the gripe of copycat killers. it doesn't make a lot of sense realistically, but i don't really have a problem with it. say that gale publicized it to a degree that made it recognizable enough and drew interest enough to create copycat killers. people are inspired by all sorts of stupid reasons or figures to cause harm.Lazerus wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 9:50 amThe problem I have with this franchise is the constant copycat killers. the original scream will always be my favorite. but scream 4 is cool too. 5 and 6 are good too. the only one i actively dislike is scream 3. but that is just my take on it.

It did seem a lot goofier than the others, but I think it grew on me over time. I actually appreciate it more now than back then.

That makes sense.
The first film was alright. But overall this series just never really did it for me.
