Lol. Indeed. We obviously aren’t doing either of those things. Not the HMF way. We keep our forums and topics open and free to become however shit they fancy becoming.Foo wrote:How European!showa58taro wrote:The whole section? Probably. Guilty by association doesn't work here. We were all online friends with known murderer. Michael Shingabis. Nobody knew what he was going to do. Nobody knew he was that kind of person. That doesn't make us bad people for being friends with him before this happened. Or poor judges of character. Bad people do bad things. Harvey is responsible for his own actions. Not Clinton, not Trump, not Obama, Dunham or Allred. They are all separate people. Dislike or like them as you will, but base them on singular merits, or in this case, misdeeds. Not group mentality.
That's just my two cents. There's right and wrong. There's what we know, what we don't know and what's proven. You can't lump people together like that unless they had an active hand in said act. That's like saying Kato's as guilty as OJ. If OJ was guilty. It just doesn't work that way.

To this day, Lucian's probably the biggest airhead I've ever encountered. I don't want to be mistaken for his friend either.

That did occur to me at one point before all the shit went down, actually. Their arguments felt staged, it was like the most braindead soap opera in history.Reign in Blood wrote:Plot twist: What if Lucian was the girlfriend?Headhunter wrote:Probably the girlfriend, actually.Headhunter wrote:To this day, Lucian's probably the biggest airhead I've ever encountered. I almost wish I was here for those times.

Also, there is a big distinction:
Are you aware of the activity? In the case of Lucian, none of use were aware he was a violent murderer and disowned him upon learning of it. With Weinstein, many people were fully aware and ignored it. Weinstein had power, money, and influence in part because all of those aware enabled him.
And yes, that includes many of the so-called victims. If you take the career advancement in exchange for the sex or even the silence, are you a victim at all?

All of this can apply to Roger Ailes and you never said anything about tha. Was it more acceptable for him because your expectation is perverted behavior from conservatives with power?Foo wrote:Also, there is a big distinction:

Roger Ailes is not a feminist hero who was being protected by those very feminists while he was harassing women.Headhunter wrote:All of this can apply to Roger Ailes and you never said anything about tha. Re: Untangling Harvey Weinstein
Certainly none of us expected Lucian to murder anyone, but every single one of us knew the dude had a screw loose. And his girl.

In other words, you find that situation more acceptable because the expectation for conservatives with power is to be perverts.Foo wrote:Roger Ailes is not a feminist hero who was being protected by those very feminists while he was harassing women.Headhunter wrote:All of this can apply to Roger Ailes and you never said anything about tha. Re: Untangling Harvey Weinstein
I think a bunch of feminists acting like harassment is not a problem when it furthers their agenda is the issue. Both Ailes and Weinstein are pervs.Headhunter wrote:In other words, you find that situation more acceptable because the expectation for conservatives with power is to be perverts.Foo wrote:Roger Ailes is not a feminist hero who was being protected by those very feminists while he was harassing women.Headhunter wrote:All of this can apply to Roger Ailes and you never said anything about tha.
