In fact, I just got a notice from the water company that said they were going to nearly quadruple the water bill for residents in my town by 2020. The notice said they wouldn't do it if they received 40,000 letters of complaints. They received 43, total.

Liberals can increase the minimum wage all they want, it's not going to stop the gas, electric and water companies from bending you over and fucking you in the ass.
And people wonder why you need regulators.
I wouldn't complain if it helped the rent/utilities situation.

Not sure what you're asking about here. As in 6-8 dollars/hour? That depends on the job and the location. Minimum wage in florida is $8.25/hour. A livable wage in my town is about $14/hour(i.e. you can pay your bills and have money for food and necessities, but you'll live in the ghetto and not have money for anything else). In a place like LA or NYC, that same $14/hour wouldn't even come close to paying your rent, let alone anything you need to survive. So yeah, it varies wildly by location and job.
Like me! Only in SoCal the livable wage is more like $22, like you mention.
Is that what you’re on?
I make less than livable wage, and yes I live in gang-infested ghetto with ridiculous rent for what you get.

Literally what good regulation is meant to do.

Alli's lucky if she gets more than 12.
I should have clarified full time jobs. Part time jobs are getting ridiculous in how few hours they're willing to give.

You’d think that’d be illegal. Though I think London has that problem. Labour (left leaning party) are hoping to address that. Be good if they win more power.

Yeah, there's that, too. Everything varies too much to generalize. I have to keep everyone under forty in off-season, but they're willing to pay overtime in-season. Meanwhile, the store manager is required to work sixty plus a week all year.

Part time jobs that give you a zero hour contract so you’re not guaranteed work every week etc, but you get paid for the hours they do give you.

It's a simple answer. The government is sticking their noses in our wallets despite taxing over 20% of our wages earned. MORE than one full day of my work week goes to taxes so the government can blow 3.1 billion dollars annually for government employee vacation pay and 23 billion dollars on illegal immigrants. And now they're quadrupling the water bill because they can,

Sounds like a normal part time job to me, no contract needed.

That's what happened when you live in a liberal-infested shit hole that always votes democrat.

It’s become a big topic in the UK as it clearly disadvantages and puts pressure on poor people who have so much uncertainty in their employment. Resulted in a change in laws to remove them.
