I'm still in critical condition. They are worried that I have a clot in my portal vein. I did not have a stomach ulcer, my esophagus was bleeding. They did an endoscopy and put rubber bands on the veins that were swelling. The concern is that because I need to be on blood thinners and currently have clots, I am at risk of bleeding out and dying. My hemoglobin was hovering dangerously near transfusion level. It's still low, but has risen. They took me off blood thinners for now and are making sure I'm no longer bleeding internally. I haven't vomited blood since yesterday morning, so that is a good sign, but I'm certainly not out of the woods. I can still die at any moment.
Fingers crossed!

Saw Solo finally.
Definitely agree with Seb about the cinematography. It was pretty dark and murky, I kept wanting to reach for a remote to bump up the brightness and contrast. I do think this is the first of the new Star Wars that has a really good villain. I think Kylo Ren is well written, but he's a well written bitch. The guy in Rogue One was just bland.

Glad you're not dead yet, Jason. I still have to tell you how wrong about politics you are, brah.

All these Star Wars movies look like big budget fan fiction to me.
Without seeing it, I have little doubt it pretty much destroys what made the character great. From what I saw in the originals, he started out as a morally indifferent space pirate and then through a set of events that happened in those films like finding love and a purpose, became a hero.
Also certain the movie is full of putting things on screen that may have been referenced in later movies that were better left unseen and all sorts of stupid Easter eggs.
Ever notice you can spend your entire adult life and barely encounter people you went to high school with for four years in your own town, but in the vastness of outer space and many occupied planets you will just happen to stumble into the same people again, repeatedly?

The Star wars universe is clearly the size of a closet. Everyone's related or acquainted. It does get silly.

Feels more like OG Han than Return of the Jedi or Force Awakens did (not that I'm knocking those, the character grew). The kid doesn't look that much like Harrison, but he definitely nailed Harrison's mannerisms so it felt like the same guy.
There's one easter egg, but definitely not stupid, and I was caught way off guard and it actually elevated the movie for me. It actually has me excited for more "in between" stories. Hell, I'd be down again for Ron directing more, just let him make it from the start rather than coming on board to clean up a mess.
And hire a better cinematographer.

That's why I'm game for Rey to not be related to anybody. Damn the haterfanboyz that wanted her to be Luke's daughter.Monster wrote:The Star wars universe is clearly the size of a closet. Everyone's related or acquainted. It does get silly.

They're saying as long as I don't start bleeding it'll be good news. If I bleed again it's probably fatal.

You should write a movie about this.Jason wrote:Love you guys.
Like an action hero who survives a hail of gunfire and fistfights. Then he gets scratched on the finger by a kitten and bleeds out. The audience expects him to forgive the kitten, but instead he stomps on it.
