Saturday the 14th!
Just bought a signed Jason hockey mask by Ted White for 99 bucks. I'm not really one to care about autographs, but this one is special. Favorite movie franchise, favorite movie in the franchise, favorite Jason... Had to be done.

i truly hate the way some people watch movies.... why can't a good story just be a good story, without putting baggage and agenda and the like into it? why can't you just watch a movie and take it on it's own merit, without trying to make it be some kind of over=earching problem with hollywood and our culture and everything. *sigh*

Yeah. Henry Cavil is pretty screwed now. Even though I knew what he was saying about the MeToo stuff (he's old school, so he likes the classic chase style of flirting, but now these days you can be accused of being a rapist now if you are persistent, is his point), there are legions now hating on him so hard it will effect future movies with him in it.zombie wrote:i truly hate the way some people watch movies.... why can't a good story just be a good story, without putting baggage and agenda and the like into it? why can't you just watch a movie and take it on it's own merit, without trying to make it be some kind of over=earching problem with hollywood and our culture and everything. *sigh*

One of my own friends went on a tirade, slamming him for his comments and bringing his work into the picture. This is why I put your comment together with the subjectzombie wrote:let me go look up the cavil stuff you're talking about.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Yeah. Henry Cavil is pretty screwed now. Re: 07-14-2018
okay. read his comments. it seems to come from a good place, but a frustrated one too. people need to think a little before they go all triggered and righteous. not everyone has to be a bad guy. and besides that, he didn't write or direct any of his movies that i'm aware. so why bring that into it at all?

Victor Salva marathon!zombie wrote:i truly hate the way some people watch movies.... why can't a good story just be a good story, without putting baggage and agenda and the like into it? why can't you just watch a movie and take it on it's own merit, without trying to make it be some kind of over=earching problem with hollywood and our culture and everything. *sigh*

i don't blame people for watching his movies.Foo wrote:Victor Salva marathon!zombie wrote:i truly hate the way some people watch movies.... why can't a good story just be a good story, without putting baggage and agenda and the like into it? why can't you just watch a movie and take it on it's own merit, without trying to make it be some kind of over=earching problem with hollywood and our culture and everything. *sigh*
Re: 07-14-2018
also never blamed all of hollywood for victor salva. i've tried to the opposite, in fact, when some other of you guys want to make it bigger.

My point is that we rarely truly separate the art from the artist,

That segment of society has evolved to the point of not allowing opposing opinions. They either can't handle it and run away or they try to damage the person they disagree with.
Cavill said nothing that many aren't thinking.

Re: 07-14-2018
Someone should remake movies verbatim but under #metoo rules. So when John Cussck lifts up his boombox in Say Anything, he gets tased by police, put in jail, charged with several crimes, and then loses his job without ever be allowed to give his side of the story.
Re: 07-14-2018
extreme vocal entitled fandom is "that segment" but i know what you're trying to get at, and it's only a portion.Foo wrote:That segment of society has evolved to the point of not allowing opposing opinions. Re: 07-14-2018
now i do want to name the movie. it was logan. don't read past this point, if you still care to see it.
it was seen as destroying what we love and turning it into a girl, essentially. which is more or less the same gripe being used against star wars too. so yeah. it comes from both political spectrums, so you put that to rest.

Speaking of Star Wars, has Harrison Ford ever been in a movie where he did not sexually assault a woman by today's standards? How many women told him "No." and yet he proceeded to flirt or even hold or kiss them?zombie wrote:now i do want to name the movie. it was logan. don't read past this point, if you still care to see it.

Yeah, there is a general feminist agenda at play. ScarJo was just pressured to not play a tranny in a movie because the "fans", wanted a real tranny.
Re: 07-14-2018
sure, there are leftist entitled fans. you want to make it out that that is all there is. that was my point, clearly.Foo wrote:Speaking of Star Wars, has Harrison Ford ever been in a movie where he did not sexually assault a woman by today's standards?
