I keep asking her to make gold grills for horses. I think that could be the next big thing.

I dunno. Pretty sure she’s pretty across many decades.Foo wrote:Trends. If she needs surgery then I no longer understand aesthetic standards for women.
Women though. I agree and love her regardless, but they are more finicky than guys.showa58taro wrote:I dunno. Pretty sure she’s pretty across many decades.Foo wrote:Trends. more pressure on them, in general, based around their appearance too. it sucks. i hope that she's not doing for that reason. have you talked to her about it at all?Foo wrote:Women though. i would rather see spacey just not hired anymore. but this film predates all of that. should they have just shelved the film altogether? i don't know another way around it, from their perspective. they're making the best they can, while still trying to distance themselves from him.Foo wrote:
But what about the other people? The guys on the poster who have lost career value? The cast and crew, some who probably worked months, and some where this might be there only chance?
Isn't it enough to simply not hire Spacey anymore? To pursue him criminally and in civil court where appropriate?
She believes in being the best version of herself she can be. It is not really limited to appearance as she likes to take classes and stuff too.zombie wrote:more pressure on them, in general, based around their appearance too. it sucks. i hope that she's not doing for that reason. have you talked to her about it at all?Foo wrote:Women though. fair enough. i hope it works out and she's happier with herself.Foo wrote: She believes in being the best version of herself she can be. It is not really limited to appearance as she likes to take classes and stuff too.
He has already been paid and will presumably never work again, in reality, this punishes everyone but him involved in the movie.zombie wrote:i would rather see spacey just not hired anymore. but this film predates all of that. should they have just shelved the film altogether? i don't know another way around it, from their perspective. they're making the best they can, while still trying to distance themselves from him.Foo wrote:

it wasn't my decision. from their mindset, i don't know what else to do and get any kind of profit at all.Foo wrote:He has already been paid and will presumably never work again, in reality, this punishes everyone but him involved in the movie.zombie wrote:i would rather see spacey just not hired anymore. but this film predates all of that. should they have just shelved the film altogether? i don't know another way around it, from their perspective. they're making the best they can, while still trying to distance themselves from him.Foo wrote:

She really is happy. Just not complacent. Not saying that is a positive or negative. I would not have surgery unless it was going to save or improve my life, but she sees it different.zombie wrote:fair enough. i hope it works out and she's happier with herself.Foo wrote: She believes in being the best version of herself she can be. i don't think i'd ever get surgery for cosmetic reasons, only because i don't think it would make a difference in how i feel about myself. and maybe make it worse a little bit. that's just me.Foo wrote:She really is happy. I just don't believe in burning the village down. When i see stuff like this, it reinforces that industry is more about image than talent. His talent didn't change, his image did. When is the last time Spacey was the star of a big movie anyway?zombie wrote:it wasn't my decision. from their mindset, i don't know what else to do and get any kind of profit at all.Foo wrote:He has already been paid and will presumably never work again, in reality, this punishes everyone but him involved in the movie.zombie wrote:i would rather see spacey just not hired anymore. but this film predates all of that. should they have just shelved the film altogether? i don't know another way around it, from their perspective. they're making the best they can, while still trying to distance themselves from him.Foo wrote:

he had been the star of a big tv show, and supporting in a couple of big movies. and yeah, image is probably the biggest factor in hollywood. it explains a lot of the decision making.Foo wrote:I just don't believe in burning the village down. I also try to view it from her perspective since she does surgeries. I am terrified of getting operated on. She does them so it does not seem so foreign. Also that pert of her job is aesthetics. People tend to want nicer looking teeth than they go in with.zombie wrote:i don't think i'd ever get surgery for cosmetic reasons, only because i don't think it would make a difference in how i feel about myself. and maybe make it worse a little bit. that's just me.Foo wrote:She really is happy. there are different types of happy. Is a 300 pound woman happy when she is eating cake? Is the lazy guy happy when he is sleeping and playing video games day? They probably are in that moment.zombie wrote:i don't think it should be about being the most attractive in the room. i think it should be about making yourself happier, fulfilling something within yourself. don't do it to appeal to others, do it to improve your own well being. just my thought. otherwise, where is the end to that? people are fickle, especially any large group of people. it seems like the wrong mindset, but that could be misrepresentation of her reasons, or misreading of it on my part.
I don't mind the needles as much as the scalpels.showa58taro wrote:I’m afraid of needles. That solves the surgery thing pretty fucking fast.
