September 3rd 2018
Happy Labor Day. It's going to be triple digits hot today so I think I will just watch classic movies all day.

Got off work an hour ago. Might watch a movie later, not sure.
Hope everyone's day goes well.

Season 2, episode 2, of Parks and Rec is a whole lot funnier now watching Louie CK arrest Azis Ansari for being a possible pervert.

And he went backstage and jerked it out of control to Aubrey Plaza.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Season 2, episode 2, of Parks and Rec is a whole lot funnier now watching Louie CK arrest Azis Ansari for being a possible pervert.

It's fine though, she said 'yes', until it's convenient to say she didn't mean itReign in Blood wrote:And he went backstage and jerked it out of control to Aubrey Plaza.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Season 2, episode 2, of Parks and Rec is a whole lot funnier now watching Louie CK arrest Azis Ansari for being a possible pervert.

Road trip to these fine establishments?
Re: September 3rd 2018
I would not complain about my food in the earshot of Scott Steiner.
Re: September 3rd 2018
Not really road trip worthy. Good food, but no Abdullah the Butcher.Jason wrote:Road trip to Crave, tbh.
Re: September 3rd 2018
Eat some tacos, then play HR Derby in the batting cage. That is all I have.Jason wrote:Road trip to Crave, tbh.
Re: September 3rd 2018
You ever sneak a slow pitch bat into a cage and hit those dimpled balls? You would think a gun is going off.Jason wrote:Only 20% would be about the food, anyway.
HR derby?
Re: September 3rd 2018
I only ever swung a slow pitch bat during the one season I joined a slow pitch softball league. Typically just go into the cages with nothing... Only 364 more days 'til next year's hockey trial I gotta toughen up.
Nah, I bring my pro Maple Ace bat and hit the very fast hardball section. Not sure how fast the pitches are set to. Definitely somewhere in the 90s, though.

I don't think I ever could have hit a 90+ mph ball with a wood bat. Have never had a pro-grade maple in my hands.Jason wrote:I only ever swung a slow pitch bat during the one season I joined a slow pitch softball league. Much lighter, with a better sweet spot. Less weight makes the swing faster and the sweet spot makes the ball go further. Bought a pro-level maple a year or so ago. Took it straight to the batting cages and hit the ball noticeably further without changing anything but the bat.Foo wrote:I don't think I ever could have hit a 90+ mph ball with a wood bat. I was never a pull hitter. Might work on that one day just for the hell of it.

Expensive to take to a cage, no?Jason wrote:Much lighter, with a better sweet spot. Less weight makes the swing faster and the sweet spot makes the ball go further. The cages I go to are at a small little local theme park. Go Karts, bumper boats, arcade games and junk. Two bucks worth of tokens will get you 20 pitches. You can walk right over to the cages and use your own bat. They just ask that you wear a helmet.Foo wrote:Expensive to take to a cage, no?Jason wrote:Much lighter, with a better sweet spot. We have a variety. I was just thinking about damage to the bat. We would hit all night and destroy aluminum bats inside of maybe 20 Sessions. I could imagine one on the trademark cracking a pro bat. They used to have these god awful cage bats. If a zombie outbreak happens, you want one of those.Jason wrote:The cages I go to are at a small little local theme park. Aluminum bats can be deceptively weak. A wood bat is typically gonna be fine unless it hits that point in the middle of the bat where it will just shatter instantly. Bo knows where that is.Foo wrote:We have a variety. I was just thinking about damage to the bat. We would hit all night and destroy aluminum bats inside of maybe 20 Sessions.
