The game is rigged, but you still gotta play it. Or all you're left with is your pride and constant frustration.
Voting for Clinton wouldn't have been an "ideological compromise." It would have been voting for someone who stands entirely against what I stand for, little different than voting for Trump. Both Trump and Clinton are straight capitalists - neither wanted anything close to what I want. I'm more to the left than Bernie is, easily, but at least he'd have been a step in the right direction. Clinton and Trump? Fuck no.
Democrats are no allies to socialists, or at least most of them. And Ocasio-Cortez is sounding more like a Democrat over a social democrat each day. Party-first Democrats and those who suggest "vote blue no matter who" are as dangerous to leftist goals as Republicans are, if not more so.
I do play the game - voting third party is a legitimate choice in this country (as much as Democratic Party supporters bitch and whine about it because they think we should vote for their shitty and worthless candidates). Voting for third party leftist candidates, or, when there are no independent or third party candidates in the race, not voting, are both better choices than EVER voting for Democrats like Clinton, Booker, Obama, Donnelly, or 85% of the worthless party.
As an actual leftist, the Democratic Party can go fuck themselves. They want my vote? Instead of voter shaming me, then should fucking earn it. Until they do, they can keep on losing, because God knows I'm not going to throw away everything I believe in and vote for their atrocious and anti-left candidates.
