Yup. Got a bit fucked over with my portfolio midyear last year. Currently averaging 50.74 hours a week over the last 7 months I think. It’s all gone a bit tits up.zombie wrote:hehe shitty.showa58taro wrote:Now. i hope that you get it worked out, so you won't have to do the same next year.showa58taro wrote:Yup. Got a bit fucked over with my portfolio midyear last year. There’s a risk it gets worse. There’s me and one other who were in the top 10 for excess hours, and I’ve taken over half her portfolio alongside mine. So could get ugly.zombie wrote:i hope that you get it worked out, so you won't have to do the same next year.showa58taro wrote:Yup. Got a bit fucked over with my portfolio midyear last year. i don't think it was a conscious choice. just "this doesn't look good. get us outta here, data, engage!"Foo wrote:Zombie! How did Picard choose the warp speed for various situations? Seemed kinda random.
There was an episode that brought into question the safety of warp use. Picard seemed pretty convinced that it does do damage, and was kinda disturbed that the Federation decided to simply commission a long study to examine it. Was he morally wrong for continuing to use it, despite believing it could cause harm?zombie wrote:i don't think it was a conscious choice. just "this doesn't look good. get us outta here, data, engage!"Foo wrote:Zombie! They were allowed to use up to warp 5 without restriction. Anything beyond that needed to be an emergency or required authorization(happened a few times). They ignored it sometimes, too, but that's due to the episodic nature of the series. They tried to have an on-going continuity, but still did stand-alone episodes. The other series mostly ignored it, though it was mentioned in Voyager at least once that I recall. So, I don't see how it would be morally wrong if he stuck to the restrictions barring emergencies and whatnot(and ignoring the episodes where it's obvious the writers were ignoring it).Foo wrote:There was an episode that brought into question the safety of warp use.
