Rewatched the full LOTR EE while kids are away. What a trilogy. Simply superb.

I still haven't seen those. What's the allure?

The characters, the story, the action, the music, the cinematography, the special effects...

All of these. I mean it is a bit of fantasy, but it’s an incredible world they’ve built and it feels only slightly removed from reality (Trolls and orcs stuff) but still having basically good sword and shield core battles. The quest is exciting and the attention to detail is immense.

Gran Torino for the 4,000th time. It's on the AMC channel, and the bad language is censored......but it's still a great watch. This is Clint Eastwood at his very best. The line that makes me laugh uncontrollably, every fucking time like it's the first time I heard it, is the "Click-Clack, Ding Dong, and Charlie Chan" line. Fucking beautiful.

Well....that checks all the boxes lol

it really does. Most of the CGI still holds up well too, while other spots not so much, lol. But hey, what they were doing at the time was Pioneering, so it's still greatness. Superb trilogy. I watch it with the extended editions too, the only way to do it right. It's an all day endeavor, but what a day.

Goddamnit. Y'all's gonna make me watch it. Now maybe I'll know what all those Led Zeppelin songs mean.
