Although seeing Drive on Netflix makes it a priority to see soon. Perhaps I'll check it out tonight if I feel like putting something on.

So far, you are winning with adding a few horror to the mix lol.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:1. Mad Max: Fury Road

10. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
Man, I really haven't watched much newer movies. The Billboard in Missouri one (cant remember the name) was really good. I Saw the Devil and Train to Busan were aces. Mandy was cool. Need to watch it again though. I was perty drunk when I saw it lol.

Tarantino was a guest host on the Dunkirk episode of "The Rewatchables" (movie podcast). Said after his most recent viewing, it's his #2 favorite movie of the decade.
Whole thing is worth a listen.

Dunkirk is fantastic, I agree with him. That should've been Nolan's big Oscar sweep, imo (even though I'm happy for Del Toro too, so it's not like a stinging loss).Headhunter wrote:Tarantino was a guest host on the Dunkirk episode of "The Rewatchables" (movie podcast). He also said it was a big Oscar snub, interestingly was adamant that it should have won for Screenplay. And that it's the apex of Nolan's career because he proved he could make a movie so big without the crutch of science fiction or superheroes.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Dunkirk is fantastic, I agree with him. I got the impression he isn't a big fan of Nolan generally, said this is by far his favorite and listed Batman Begins and The Prestige as his other two favorites.

Flickchart has Halloween (2018) in the #2 spot of the decade. Clearly I have some work to do before posting mine. I also need to watch Once Upon a Time in Hollywood first.

I'm glad everyone loves Drive. I saw that movie a few years back and made a topic about it thinking I'd be the only one. Lol.
Would make my top ten, but I suck at lists.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood may very well be my #1. But in fairness, I am still extremely high on it.Monster wrote:Flickchart has Halloween (2018) in the #2 spot of the decade. Clearly I have some work to do before posting mine. I also need to watch Once Upon a Time in Hollywood first.

Re: Top 10 Movies of the Decade
Breath. Calm down.
Ya know how I have kind of lamented and ranted on the state of recent movies.. and now seeing Wolf of Wall Street on no fucking lists, when that thing is a classic in any decade, is making me visibly angry.
And I recently rewatched Drive again, didn't like it as much this time. Rewatched the Wolf 2 days ago, still good sweet love. Fuck it.

Re: Top 10 Movies of the Decade
Wolf of Wall Street as a complete movie is a victim of its own excess. When it loses steam, it dies. The first 2 hours are incredible, unlike other similarly structured Scorsese movies the crash isn't satisfying. That's why it didn't make my list, though I enjoy it.Reign in Blood wrote:Breath.
