Hope all is well. Given Slaughter and Jason both are unemployed it’s clearly time for both to go crash at Foo’s and be food testers.

I decided to try and get my personal training certification. Supposed to take up to six months, but I'm planning on finishing it in a week or two. I've read a seven hundred page textbook from NASM, but I don't really like their style(way too strict on their exercise programming, and way too focused on shit that doesn't matter), so I'm going for ISSA, which, so far, seems more reasonable. The fun part is, I already know most of what I'm reading, so it's just a matter of learning medical jargon. I'm also signed up to be a certified nutritionist, but I don't plan on starting that up until I finish the PT training. I probably should have done this ages ago, but I'm really shit at biological terminology.

I have a class A driver's license with all the endorsements. I literally have a handful of jobs lined up waiting for me and I haven't even bothered applying yet. On one hand, it is nice to have job security in this line of work, but on the other hand, a lot of these jobs can easily drive you crazy and management is almost guaranteed to treat you like garbage everywhere you go.

Speaking of shitty management, I filed for unemployment when they fired me a few weeks ago just so I can have a little bit of money coming in so I don't have to dip so deep into my savings. I just got a notice from the unemployment office on Friday that the company that fired me is refusing to grant me unemployment because I violated a safety procedure... Can you believe this shit? I report to them for nearly a year that the truck I'm driving IS GOING TO SPILL CONCRETE. PLEASE REPLACE THE DRUM OR GET ME A NEW TRUCK AND DO NOT SEND ME UP STEEP HILLS, to which they constantly ignored. They never replaced the drum, never put me in a different truck and sent me up a steep hill. Still get fired, and then these fucking scumbags have the audacity to put my ass on the street, damage me financially,d potentially destroying my driving career, and THEN deny me unemployment after all that? I have never experienced such scumbaggery in my entire working life. I've held a dozen jobs, been treated like shit at nearly all of them, but this one is several leagues higher than all the rest when it comes to scumbaggery. That company does not deserve to exist. I will throw a party if they go bankrupt and have to shut down. At least all my fellow drivers can easily jump ship to the several other companies and work for them.

Yes, but I applied for unemployment compensation because I was fired. When the unemployment offices contacted my former employer, they refused it to me.

Not here, we can be denied. I've applied before a few times when unemployed and was denied every time.

Unemployed, yes, but qualified for unemployment? No. I'm not qualified for unemployment either. It's a bit shit how it's run.

We literally pay into unemployment when we are employed, then when we become unemployed we are denied any compensation.

It used be if you were fired/laid off and could show evidence of trying to find employment, you were qualified. Now I have no clue how it works. I checked my state .gov site and it sounded like I was qualified, but when I took their questionnaire, it denied me without explanation. So yeah, who knows?

Not that I'm desperate for unemployment compensation anyway, but it's at least nice to know that the government won't give you any of the money that you paid into to prevent yourself from being thrown out on the street.

Every time you have worked, you have paid into it. You can qualify.
