The idea is to quarantine the elderly, since they are the most likely to die from this. Let it burn quicker and avoid it becoming a recurring illness.zombie wrote:yeah, i'm of the mindset of reduce exposure and potential spread, rather than just let everyone get it that's gonna get it so that it burns itself out.Jason wrote:Gotta prepare through May for it to still be like this. the elderly are part of a family that includes young people. people that are now exposed and potential carriers, in such a mode of behavior, and now bringing back to the elderly in their family.Jason wrote:The idea is to quarantine the elderly, since they are the most likely to die from this. politicians on tv, even saying that they, as elderly citizens, would rather let the children live their lives normally than be a burden on their lifestyle. meh...

You don't need equipment to work out, you just need to use bodyweight exercises, or random shit around your house for resistance. Just google some calisthenics workouts, or check youtube since all the youtube fitness people are making videos about working out at home.Jason wrote:I have no equipment here at home. The great thing about the gym I go to is I have a keycard to let me in whenever I please. They're also doing it by appointment only now. It's usually just me, or one or two others in the whole gym.

I'm at work right now, but my brother just had a kidney transplant. Everything went really well!!! Now they just gotta make sure his body can handle it. Fuckin' A!!!!
Re: March 24th 2020
Yeah, I know. I'm just stubborn and have quite a bit of muscle I want to keep intact. There are routines I have where I can substitute machine workouts for calisthenics at home, but chest, bicep and triceps exercises are where I tend to go pretty heavy weighted and I just gotta hit the gym for those or my psyche will be damaged. Re: March 24th 2020
It takes a long time(months) for muscle to start to go away as long as you're not sitting on your ass doing nothing and have an adequate caloric intake. And there are ways to compensate for using a lighter load, such as slowing your tempo(try five seconds up, hold for one or two, then five down), doing isometrics, or just plain increasing reps. It's not gonna give you the same feeling, but it will keep you going until you can get back to normal lifting. As for your psyche, you just gotta find a way to challenge yourself without the gym.Jason wrote:Yeah, I know. I'm just stubborn and have quite a bit of muscle I want to keep intact. Most likely, but not only. Pretty much anyone with health issues are at high risk of death, even little kids. Don't be selfish and put others at risk, you don't know their health history so don't look at someone younger and assume they would survive if you're sick and come into contact with them. A lot of younger people have health issues they don't even know about. On top of which, you don't know who lives with at risk people and who don't, they bring back everything they come in contact with to those vulnerable people.
Order a set of weights from amazon and stay in. If you think you actually have this and are still going out into the general public at all (breathing releases tiny droplets of water that land on everything in your path, you don't have to be coughing or sneezing to spread this) then you're being reckless and selfish. Don't be "that" dude.

What kind of bicep exercises would you recommend for someone with no equipment? I can't maintain the size I'm at without the proper equipment so I'm already dreading that loss.Slaughterhouserock wrote:It takes a long time(months) for muscle to start to go away as long as you're not sitting on your ass doing nothing and have an adequate caloric intake. I mentioned early I have both surgical and n95 masks, as well. So even when I have to go out I'm not coughing and shit hardly at all and if I ever do I cover it completely. When I go out I actually consider others before myself, so me being "that guy" is nothing to worry about.

Again, as long as you get some sort of stimulus, you're not gonna lose size. If you have anything you can hang from, chin ups. You can even just put a sturdy broomstick/mop across two chairs or something to do inverted bodyweight curls. If you've got a sturdy dining table, you could get under it, grab the edge, and do inverted curls that way. Add weight by putting something heavy on your chest or using one arm at a time. Google bicep pushups and try them out(elevation helps for added resistance). Another option is to have a backpack, small suitcase, or other bag of sorts and fill it with shit(books, canned goods, whatever) and curl that. You just gotta see what you have available and make it work. Like I said before, you may not have the weight you need, but you can always compensate for that.Jason wrote:What kind of bicep exercises would you recommend for someone with no equipment? Checking in. Ceri seems to have it. I think I’ve got it now. Seems quite the awful thing really.

Also there is nothing more callous than the emerging idea of letting people die so the stock market does better. That’s right there is incredibly awful. Losing millions of lives to improve short term liquidity is just weird.
