friday the 13th IV seems to often held as the perfect slasher film. but what about other horror subgenres? what's the perfect body horror film? what is the perfect ghost or haunted house film? zombie film? etc.

You guys never heard the term Body Horror before? Typically they're horror movies that involve something grotesque going on with the body that progresses through the plot. David Cronenberg stuff often falls here (The Fly being the most blatant).
I think, in some ways, Hellraiser 1 and 2 qualify, though Frank and Julia are trying to reverse the effects to get their bodies back to normal.
