if they follow the law as i've read it to be written, then it could be a good thing. if they use it as a way to dismiss calls that involve a threat where the skin color or some other distinguishing feature is mentioned, then it's going to cause some serious backlash, justifiably.

So just indicating race and descriptors is the line? You're in an anxious and potentially hostile situation, you call the police, they are looking for as much information as possible. You're just supposed to say "This person (can't use gender, that's an additional lawsuit waiting to happen) is being a meanie (can't say cunt or bag of dicks). Please find them somewhere (can't use a bad descriptor for the neighborhood, might offend)". That'll get em somewhere.

there's certainly a big risk of it being used to dismiss any calls where skin color is indicated, or some other feature that's covered under that act, but hopefully the police won't use it that way, or there will be necessary and warranted backlash.

They are attending. These are legally attending foreign students who are now being given the choice to risk their lives or be deported instead of just letting classes go online and continue attending the course their visa allows them to. It’s a draconian fuck you to all foreigners and pure fucking garbage. It’s preventing universities and colleges from being able to protect their professors and their students all in the name of screwing over foreigners.
