Re: October Challenge 2020 Discussion Thread
First new watch was The Vampire Lovers. I found myself yelling at the screen a couple of times .

The weather here has been amazing for 3 or so weeks. Last year, it was hot and then all of a sudden got cold. We didnt have fall weather. I wish every month was October and we had halloween once a month on the last day.Ava wrote:Up early watching Dawn of the Dead remake , drinking coffee and snarfing down pumpkin bread toast. Watched The Dead Dont Die last night. It was a hard one to rank. I gave it a D+. But I could have went C- or D-. It had some dry humor moments that I thought were funny. Big disappointment though.

Is that the one that had the trailer looking like it was trying so hard to be funny but failing, with Bill Murray and Adam Driver?Jmac Attack wrote:Watched The Dead Dont Die last night. Yes. Most of it just fell flat. Phenomenal cast, just nothing delivered.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Is that the one that had the trailer looking like it was trying so hard to be funny but failing, with Bill Murray and Adam Driver?Jmac Attack wrote:Watched The Dead Dont Die last night. kicking off today with jean rollin's the iron rose
Re: October Challenge 2020 Discussion Thread
shudder lists john saxon as being in fade to black, and directed by douglas schulze. i think they got it mixed up with hellmaster.
it looks good so far, all the same.

Couldn't find the first, but figured going into Dogman 2 won't matter.

I wish I liked that one more, but it just becomes difficult to follow at the end (obviously there were some scenes removed or something like that). Some interesting scenes, but there are much better horror films from the 1930's.Jmac Attack wrote:Mark of the Vampire (1935)

I'll give it credit for the graveyard, though. Looked almost spooky.zombie wrote:it's very soft on plot. so i get that.Jigsaw wrote:I hated that movie so much with a burning passion.zombie wrote:kicking off today with jean rollin's the iron rose

Yeah, I can totally see that. I read that according to original reviews when it came out, the running time was 80 minutes. Then the powers that be cut out a few scenes because they were offensive or some shit.Jigsaw wrote:I wish I liked that one more, but it just becomes difficult to follow at the end (obviously there were some scenes removed or something like that).
