So I happened to listen to a portion of that speech a little bit ago where he kept remarking about Christians generally turning out in very low numbers when it comes to elections, and he basically made a series of small pitches to them throughout the speech (and kind of joking around with them as though they just don't feel like getting out and voting) and explaining to them that this election is an important one and if there was one election where their turnout was important it would be this one, etc...

So the quote that was out of context looks like gibberish but when you listen to a lot of that speech and you finally get to that quote, he's just goofing around with Christians who never show up to elections.

"And again, Christians, get out and vote! Just this time! You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years it'll be fixed, it'll be fine, you won't have to vote anymore. In four years we'll have it fixed so good you won't have to vote again".

whatever he meant to say or not, the democrats would be stupid not to play it to their advantage in every harris ad and every liberal or left pundit till election day.
Why would it be stupid?

because it's the perfect ammunition against trump and the people he's surrounding himself with. and that doesn't seem to be popular when exposed to the light so directly.

You're saying it would be wise of the democrats to pull out an egregiously out-of-context quote and mislead the public? Isn't that their shtick anyway?

he went to turning point usa "to meet random christians who weren't sure about voting", and told them they won't have to vote again. they should do whatever they can to let that into the light, whether trump fans think it's out of context or not.

If they're conservative religious types, they should look into either the Constitution Party's nominee (Randall Terry) or the American Solidarity Party's nominee (Peter Sonski).

Now, Sonski wouldn't likely appeal to the more extreme religious folk - the ASP are primarily a Catholic pro-life party - but even so, if they've no interest in Trump or Harris, there are plenty of other options that might appeal to them.

The most generous interpretation of Trump’s statement is that he doesn’t give a shit what happens to the GOP if he isn’t on the ballot.

It's literally out of context. And that's the problem that has led to such division in the country. Take words out of context and spin it into something negative to get both sides arguing.

it's literally out of context because it's part of a larger ramble speech by trump, and even more out of context because his speech was part of a larger event for turning point usa ....like comic con for zealot maga republicans. :P

regardless of all of that, what he said is negative if you believe in the democratic process.

It's pretty easy to understand what he meant unless there's the ulterior motive some people have where they insist on attributing something negative.

America is a constitutional republic. But even ignoring that, the democrats don't believe in democracy, since this is their 3rd election in a row where they've either went against or ignored the will of their voters.

I'll agree with Jason that Democrats definitely don't believe in democracy. I don't agree with his reasons, but he's right on the basic point.

what he meant us that you only have to vote this once more because if he wins, he'll fix everything so that nothing can ever be undone in the next election. do i have it right?

so the democrats want a democratic process that they can cheat. and the republicans (those circling trump anyway) want something more akin to a monarchy. neither cares about the democraric process, but one of them pretends to care about it enough to not just do away with it out right. :P

If you watch the speech, you'll see that he was clowning around with them throughout half of it. This is what Trump generally does at rallies. I think you're just reading way too deeply into a quote taken so blatantly out of context, in my opinion. I don't see any monarchy angle at all. In fact, just the opposite.

He's a reformer, so in the simplest terms, limit big government and allow more freedom to citizens. Stop catering to illegal immigrants when we have our own citizens unable to get the things that illegals are able to get, stop sending money to foreign countries to prop up wars, become self sufficient in oil, etc...
