it's good stuff. he feels more introspective less political than what i've heard of bob dylan. both have their place.
Yeah. I'd say that's exactly right.
What was Joan Baez like in the Dylan movie? She had to have had a role in it I imagine
joan baez does have a large part in the film. i liked the character. don't know anything about her, honestly.

Very well done portrayal
They were both a little nutso from my understanding. Lol. She had a golden voice though.

I think it's the singular passionate motivation and drive these artists have that makes them a bit goofy

She's one of the top female vocalists ever for me. She wrote Diamonds & Rust about her relationship with Dylan and it's one of the best songs ever. I think you'd be a fan.

And the drugs!
Though I don't think Joan really did any sort of drugs until prescription meds. Dylan tried to keep it private but it's strongly implemented that he was involved with amphetamines. Who knows.

Speaking of music, Springsteen released a song from his upcoming album with previously-unreleased tracks!
Very Streets of Philadelphia esque. You can tell this was written in the early to mid 90s period. Probably omitted from the Human Touch album if I were to guess.

I would have went with the copious amount of booze and coke they all do.

Really good Dire Straits tune I just heard for the first time. I really need to do a deep dive into them.
I much prefer Tom Paxton and Phil Ochs over Bob Dylan, especially when it comes to their political material.
"High Sheriff of Hazard" and "We Didn't Know" - both by Tom Paxton - are among some of my favorite protest songs. Nothing against Dylan - I largely feel the same way about Pete Seeger (thought "Waist Deep in the Big Muddy" does get a lot of love from me).
