Finishing the night up with the true classic that is Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957).
i think that was featured in chopping mall, so it has to be a great.
Giant telepathic crabs, a shrinking island, and voices of dead acquaintances calling out in the night. What's not to love?

takes all kinds of critters for farmer vincent's fritters fam, b3 ready.
On a side note, I have no idea what a fritter is, but it sounds tasty, I guess.

Decoys (2004) was a lot more fun than I expected. Occasionally too goofy for my liking, but still had a good time with it.
You could've paired Decoys with Candy Stripers. Both are pretty goofy and fun.

with all of the asian remakes we've had, i'm surprised that audition was not among them. anyways that's my next watch.
Good point. It is one of the more well known ones as well.
Because how in the hell do you rework a Miike film for causal American audiences? Plus, Hollywood were only interested in creepy places with ghost kids with their mouths open during that timeframe as well, if it didn't involve cheap scares, there was no money to be made.

that does sound cool, if it's handled in a fun cheesy way. i may have to take a look.

Because it follows the book more closely, I had a feeling Jig would love it, even though it's pretty ass lol. (the book is barely mediocre to begin with, its sequel books are much better though)
I've never read the book myself, and to be honest, I don't know if I even knew the book had sequels.
I mean, I'm not saying it's a good movie; still gave it a below average rating, but until I revisit the first movie, which perhaps I was too harsh on, yeah, it's the best of the four, in my view.
There are 3 books. Only the first has been adapted (twice). The 2nd book actually continue's Marsha's revenge against Karen, follows her across the west coast. Pretty damn good actually. 3rd book is all new characters, but features other residents of Drago, particularly a pack leader searching for his young teen son who disappeared during the town-burnings just before they all revealed to him what they really were. The pack leader is vicious in his hunt, while the boy is incredibly confused in the care of a neighboring town sheriff and the town nurse. III is actually pretty great and I'm still perplexed they haven't bothered adapting that one (though some stuff has been plucked from it in part 6 and 8).

I'm still so happy that this rip of Fright Night part II is still up on youtube. Very good quality, and last I saw it still wasn't on a good legit physical media for our region.

For a double header, I would lean more into the Creepshows, but for quality I do rank both Phantasm & Phantasm II in my top 100 all time so they are higher graded to me. Reign's right, it's a really tough call and there really isn't a wrong answer to go with.

My new Fright Night Part 2 bit o trivia:
"Roddy McDowall and director Tommy Lee Wallace had an unpleasant lunch with Live Entertainment chairman Jose Menendez to discuss the film's distribution and marketing, and later the same evening the exec was slaughtered by his sons, Lyle Menendez and Erik Menendez. As news of the murders swirled around Hollywood the next morning, McDowall phoned Wallace and cracked, "Well, I didn't do it. Did you?"'
Also explains the shit marketing the movie had.

The Motel Hell ranch house where the movie was filmed is being sold. 35 million dollars. I should buy it.

Finishing off the night with one of the best ever. The Exorcist. Going with the long awaited theatrical version. I don't remember if I've ever seen this version.

I have four different steelbooks of this movie. Lol.
All four steelbooks have a combined total of 8 copies of the film.
Five of which are the extended version, the other three are the theatrical version.
Two 4Ks of the extended and two 4Ks of the theatrical.
Three blurays of the extended and one bluray of the theatrical.
Not to mention one steelbook comes inside the out of print Bible edition that is limited to 2,000 copies and going for over 300 bucks at the moment. Possibly the greatest set in my collection.

Yeah, I saw him wheelchair bound at his table at Scarefest last weekend. Only one to have a long line from the Phantasm cast there, so that's good to see.

Ashlyn Gere was in Evil Laugh. She was a mega popular pornstar back in the early 90's. I read she refused to do a topless scene in Evil Laugh, so that's kinda wild
