If you combined an episode of Goosebumps and an episode of Hillside(Fifteen) and made it 3 hours long you would have Carrie 2002.

lol. I haven't watched it since it aired and I didn't like it then. I have no idea what Hillside (Fifteen) is, but I imagine teen soapy crap.

Not just teen soapy crap but Canadian teen soapy crap the production and camera work is identical. On another note Tommy and Carrie never kiss in this one so it is closer to the book

Scratch that they did kiss just later in the scene

The 76 version is certainly a better made film, I would never claim otherwise. It all really comes down to the actress. The way Bettis played her just struck a chord. I'm more emotionally invested in her portrayal.

I remember my first introduction to Carrie. It was on the school bus in the morning and I was very young. To put it into perspective, I vividly remember kids doing the who shot JR thing with the fingers. (If you dont know what that is, I can explain further). So, VERY early 80s. But some older kid dropped the book and I picked it up. Saw the back of it (soft cover edition) and it had a picture of Carrie in which Tiggs was talking about. It scared the fuck outta me lol. But yeah, it was beautiful in a weird way. A few years later....I finally got to watch it.
