we didn't shift away from reality. unless transgender murderers are more common in reality, and that's not being reflected in the fiction? otherwise, i don't understand what you're trying to get at, in the instance.

what characters are put into current fiction that don't best serve the story? give me some examples?
The one thing that is way out of whack with serial killers compared to society is that they are gay/trans at much higher rates than their societal peers. The myth is the white male, but the reality is that they split along sex about 50/50 and are only half white (less than whites in society).

For instance, removing the muslim terrorist and the trans killer. That is done not for the story, but for PC.

so, it's only happening in hollywood on any sort of large scale? so, wouldn't seem to be that scary, given the scope of the situation as you see it to be. at least not so scary for any of us. i don't know that i agree, but it is what you're saying seemingly.
A nurse just got fired for stating a guy running from the police deserved to be shot.
but liberals don't own that industry. and that isn't a potentially false accusation either. it's more like what we started yesterday talking about, more than where we ended up.
Do you think a conservative in power fired that person for expressing an opinion that is not really that controversial? Or do you think it was likely a liberal?

A former classmate (conservative bible thumper) of mine fired a nurse for a stating a similar viewpoint in rural Alabama. Nurses cannot show bias one way or another, to do so means the public loses confidence in your team's ability to treat a patient correctly, to allow the nurse to continue working, after stating an opinion that appears to promote a racial bias(whether it does or doesn't, appearance is all that matters), would put the hospital at risk of liability. (This was about six years ago and my classmate said it really bothered her to have to fire the woman for just speaking her mind, but she couldn't risk it.)

nearly all of our favorite horror movie killers are white males. so even the 80s didn't reflect reality, if what you're saying is true? i've never heard sexual preference indicated when bringing up the "mostly white male" thing in regard to serial killers, myself.

which movies, in the last decade or two, suffered for that? homeland and american odyssey both centered on muslim terorism. (on tv)

Pretty sure nurses state their opinions all the time. There was no racial bias in this nurse's opinion, unless acting like a criminal is now a race thing.

Are you surprised the liberal media would not bring that up?

Are those shows chock full of sympathetic and heroic Muslims to balance it out?

The Sum of All Fears was Arabs in the book, Neo Nazis in the movie. The European terrorist is a Hollywood trope. The reason being is that it doesn't offend like Muslim terror does. The rule right now is that if you do a Muslim terrorist, it needs to be a true story.

it is not surprising. everyone has an agenda and can't seem to see past it.

they are not all caricature evil muslim fodder types (like in true lies, or something) if that's what you're asking.

i'm not sure whether i've seen sum of all fears or not. i'll wait for someone to come and let me know whether it would have been a better movie, with muslim terorists instead of neo-nazis.

And in the process they deny you of truth the media is supposed to be providing.

Sounds like that fits squarely into the PC rules.

The plot makes less sense when you consider the end goals of each group.

Three months expired. I could take the field goal and eat something I'm not in the mood for, or go for the TD on 4th down and hope it still tastes good enough to satisfy the craving.

I'm going for it. Philly Special.

the pure evil muslim fodder character and the murderous trans serial killer character were as much for political reasons as anything else. so let's don't kid ourselves.

I will give you a hint, when the international movie market was rapidly expanding and lots of money was flowing into Hollywood from Arab nations, the terrorists suddenly started becoming Eurotrash and domestics.
