Re: June 30th 2018
Thanks J. I feel like I’ve always known that my sister was never very girly. Always seemed quite set in refusing dresses, girly things etc. so in that sense it’s not a shock as such. But it still isn’t in my native language as it were. Nothing but love and support. Just don’t know the details of how to explain it all to my kids and to friends etc. that’s the challenge.Jmac Attack wrote:It's hard bro. That's why I don't talk about it. I won't even chime in when someone mentions it. But I will now. I feel like my daughter died sometimes. Mine was a total shock. Out of nowhere. That's when he (she) was 12. Now that he is 16, I'm pretty sure this isn't a phase. I haven't allowed the name change or any hormone therapy, but I've been thinking that now might be the time. All we've done is psychiatrists so far.showa58taro wrote:That’s the approach I’m taking. Greeted by a sad wife at 6:15 because we got a message from my sister saying she’s becoming my brother. Had it in my head that J-Mac had a similar experience. Slightly surprising (though not completely) to see.
I will say that going to meetings (or even just one) will help ya. I mention that to others but no one has ever taken that advice. Good luck buddy.

Was looking at possible cards/gifts to send. The transsexual Card market is not one the UK has embraced.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure they'd be offended at a Transgender card, they'd want the real thing. They really seem to hate being pointed out that they're not a real boy/girl.

I think liberal PC asshats get more offended, lol. Almost everyone I've met, have been forthcoming about their transition. Hell.....I dunno. This world is confusing, lol.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:I dunno, I'm pretty sure they'd be offended at a Transgender card, they'd want the real thing. Something like that was what I was hoping for. But hey, maybe make one myself out of a congratulations card.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:"Brother, Sister, doesn't matter, you're still gonna get hit."
Was tempted to go with a “congratulations, it’s a boy!” Card

I have considered what I'd get a family member before if they came out as trans:
Male to Female: Sausage grinding kit
Female to Male: Assorted summer sausages and mixed nuts.
Along with a card that said, "Still my (insert relation here) and I love ya!"
But if you want a nice card, check out etsy.com. They have a pretty awesome selection of non-traditional cards and gifts and I believe most shops ship worldwide.

Does your brother have a sense of humor about it or is he dramatic about it? Something about dick and balls would be funny if he was cool about it. Kinda ease the tension so you can move past it.showa58taro wrote:Was looking at possible cards/gifts to send. The transsexual Card market is not one the UK has embraced.

I am not sure it is harder than anything else. Just different. Selling Herbalife and stretchy pants also has a low success rate.Jmac Attack wrote:Music and Art is one of hardest businesses to break into. I've been mildly successful, and I literally put my life into it. The hours I have spent is ridiculous. I've been on the radio. Recorded with Grammy winners. Jerome Dillon from NIN wanted to start a band with me. Butch fucking Vig wanted to work with my old band. Etc. It's hard. We're not talking about Joe Schmo starting up his own Burger King franchise. With art, it takes a lot of luck. (As does any business though).Foo wrote:I dont think you are making anything up. I like you, think you are talented, and hope for the best. Nothing like a little sense of humor to know she/he still feels welcomed and not any less loved.

Re: June 30th 2018
Officially past the 1 month mark for my left arm pain. I don't know why I was going on two, perhaps it just felt like it was that long. Stupid tendonitis.
I think things got worse because people were suggesting specific exorcises that are supposed to help, but as usual, people's advice for me completely backfire, and all the exorcises did was aggravate it.
It's halted the workouts I've been doing for months dramatically. Sadly, even if I had medical insurance, there's nothing to fix this shit, aside from surgery that's a last ditch effort and only for severe cases.
