All-Time, Tier-1 Level Movie Scenes
All-Time, Tier-1 Level Movie Scenes
Thought it'd be cool to make a thread where we can post some of our favorite movie scenes ever and talk about the ones each of us post. Obvious ones that we've all seen, off-the-wall ones you love but most of us might not have seen, or ones that just strike a nerve and make you feel all nostalgic. Spoiler warnings appreciated.
I picked a kind of off-the-wall one that isn't considered to be among the greatest scenes ever, but it was just powerful to me. It's from Risky Business. No spoilers, but I imagine everyone's seen this movie at least once?
Risky Business was one of those movies I just didn't get when I first watched it 5-10 years ago. Upon my 2nd watch it was like seeing it for the first time, and since then I've loved it more with each viewing. The scene that mainly sticks with me and hardly has any relevance to the plot is the train scene. In The Air Tonight starts playing as Joel and Lana board the train and wait for all the people to leave. Something about that song, with that scene, that woman, and in that setting reminds me of what it was like to be 20, again. Anything for a thrill. For me, the way the movie built itself up to that point made the scene even more enjoyable. Ah, to be young.
The audio in the clip is altered to avoid copyright, I imagine. So it'll sound more high-pitched than it should, but here's the scene.

I'm gonna really, REALLY have to think about this. Head's mentioned some great ones, especially Heat, Once Upon A Time In The West, and Network.

Start out with fun ones that aren't necessarily GOAT status but gets your mojo rising?...DancesWithWerewolves wrote:I'm gonna really, REALLY have to think about this. Head's mentioned some great ones, especially Heat, Once Upon A Time In The West, and Network.

Have you see The Girl Next Door (Elisha Cuthbert, not the horror one :p)?zombie wrote:not sure that i've seen it.
The Girl Next Door is pretty much a more modern day remake of Risky Business.

Risky Business is a classic. One of my all time faves. It also has Booger, from Revenge of the Nerds! One of my top all time quotes-zombie wrote:uh huh. i've seen it. pretty fun stuff, as i recall.Jason wrote:Have you see The Girl Next Door (Elisha Cuthbert, not the horror one :p)?zombie wrote:not sure that i've seen it.

Miles: Sometimes you gotta say "What the Fuck", make your move. Joel, every now and then, saying "What the Fuck", brings freedom. Freedom brings opportunity, opportunity makes your future. So your parents are going out of town. You got the place all to yourself.
Joel Goodson: Yeah.
Miles: What the fuck.
