that's fair. i'm not into silent films and struggle with westerns as a subgenre. hopefully you can find your way around the types of films that you aren't big on.Reign in Blood wrote:I wouldn't single out horror. I'm just not finding much of the recent stuff making an impact, finding it's way into my favorites or must have piles. Maybe it's just not my era, it will be known as being oversaturated with Superhero flicks and those have never been a primary source of zeal for me. Now we're living Disney reboots and shit, meh, just not getting excited.

I feel the same way. Hopefully it picks up.zombie wrote:i do feel like the late 2000s and early 2010s were a little bit lacking horror-wise, but it seems to be picking up again now. but that's just my view of the genre lately.

Nothing since American Mary looks worth a damn from the Soska sisters though. The only thing I've seen since was their bit in ABC's of Death 2, which was forgettable at best.zombie wrote:to me, the soska sisters and ari aster look to have the most promise of the directors to emerge in the 2010s. they've done a couple of other films, and have the rabid remake coming up. the abc's of horror was crap though.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Nothing since American Mary looks worth a damn from the Soska sisters though. Rabid wasn't anything all that special. It's The Devil Wears Prada crossed with Contracted. The idea for Rabid is there, but it kinda sucks, but the last 15 minutes were decent when they decide to turn the film into The Brood.zombie wrote:they've done a couple of other films, and have the rabid remake coming up. the abc's of horror was crap though.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Nothing since American Mary looks worth a damn from the Soska sisters though.
