Pre October Challenge Planning

Post by Havok »

Since October is only 3 weeks away, I figured it's as good of time as any to talk and discuss plans for this years challenge?

What films have you saved specifically for the challenge? Are you pre buying anything in general for the challenge? Any films you hated the first time that might get a second chance viewing? Any franchise marathons planned?

Whatever your plans might be, discuss them here.

Aside from the suggestions I'm taking from you guys and my brother, I have a list of where the 128 movies I should be able to watch this month will come from.

Seven will be from DVDs I own but have not yet seen (Criminally Insane 2 among those), and the other 121 are coming from various sources, such as my IMDb want to see list.
For my thoughts on the horror films I've seen, please look here: https://jigsawshorrorcorner.wordpress.com/

I'm saving The Beyond and Ghost House. See if I can't find a copy of the new Phantasm and Child's Play movies.

Might try my luck with the stuff that is on Netflix, Amazon, Plex, and the Horror Channel. But I'm always the least likely to make it count. But I might give it a go this time around.

It's certainly a nice source - far better than NetFlix. I keep NetFlix for other movies/shows, but boy, when I see their horror selection, I can't help but shed a tear.

I just use my computer. Wish I could stream it to my television, but at the same time, sitting at my computer watching a flick also allows me the ability to live stream my thoughts on the film via talking to you guys.

I'm a couch big tv guy myself. If anyone has streaming device advice that would be helpful.

Jiggy,

I was looking on ebay trying to find something I could use the remainder of some ebay gift cards on. I spent the better part of 2 hours looking up "Horror dvd" in the search box and under $5 in the price range. I was tempted on a few things like The Canal for $3.50, but something kept telling me to keep searching and it wasn't until I hit page 86 that made me automatically hit the Buy It Now button.

I give to you the 2 hour long masterpiece All Wrapped Up. :P

Solid find, havok. I appreciate the time you put into it.

According to IMDb, that film follows both The Lunar Pack (2004) and Death Plots (2005), possibly due to Debbie Rochon's portrayal of Mistress Misty in all three movies.

Sounds a rather fun watch, even with the long movie length.

The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976) - horror or not? I just need one or two answers before deciding.

Also need a decision on The Wraith (1986) - IMDb says it's horror, but if I recall, people in the past have been dissuaded from watching it during the Challenge.

The story in The Wraith is totally horror, but there are no scares or creepies in it, so the confusion is understandable. Any scares is traded for bad ass action.
