I have prostate cancer. They say it's early and very treatable/curable. Pretty shitty news but people have gotten worse news.

Shitty, but good news that it was caught early and treatable.

Well, like everyone else, glad that they caught it early, and I wish you the best in taking care of it.

I think prostate cancer is just one if those things. Some of my moms brothers had it but they were much older

I guess a genetic thing. I guess on a positive note it's one of the most treatable cancers and when found early like yours it has essentially no change in life expectancy.

Congrats? :P

Amélie would be my go-to. It's not really "sappy" at all (though that one line - "I'm nobody's little weasel" - gets me everytime), but I don't know if I've ever seen it and not cried.

I may just be an emotional little bitch, as the kids say. :P

I'm not a crier during movies. There are definitely movies that extract a lot of emotion that may not necessarily be sad but has a profound effect on me when the movie is over. Unforgiven is one of them, for example.

unforgiven is a decent western, even for those that have trouble enjoying westerns.

Not that I'd call it sappy, Shawshank Redemption has one of the happiest endings in a movie I recall and can get me a bit misty.
