As a general rule, this guy has no idea what he's talking about, but I have met a unicorn once. Talked to her, got to know her, become good friends. She's beautiful, a 10, IMO and as far as crazy goes, well, her screen name is Lunachic so there you go. Maybe a 3, or a 2, just to be safe...LOL :)

Perhaps there will be a point in our future where we praise the emotional stability of others, rather than their appearance...

That point comes about a year in when you realize the other person is just a good looking douche bag you can't stand to be around.

in a partner, i think many people already do, individually. as a mass culture, we will probably always fixate on appearance. how often do you seek out nudes, compared to an in depth interview with an actress?

I think I would substitute something other than an actress there. Again, speaks to our appearance obsession when we care what a vapid person who acts for a living says on practically anything.

like i said, as a culture we're always probably gonna fixate on appearance. i'm not sure how that is going to change. and i think it also speaks to our obsession that a public figure is automatically assumed to be vapid and not worth getting to know at all, outside of their appearance.

HINT: they are public figures because of their appearance. Why would we not focus on the words of people who accomplish things based on intellectual merit? If I get the sense someone has taken the time to become an expert on a subject, I will listen. Obviously Arnold or Sly would be people who have expertise in fitness, as they have dedicated much of their lives to it. Tom Cruise on Scientology. Jay Leno on cars. Gwyneth Paltrow or Jessica Alba on skin care.

Separate celebrities from average people it's better for you searching for a companion.

intellectual merit should be held in high regard. i never said otherwise, so don't try to put words in my mouth.

actors are public figures for their ability to "play pretend". i don't assume that they don't have interests or knowledge or something outside of their chosen profession. i don't assume they are vapid and not worth getting to know (from afar), outside of their appearance.

Classic video. That it's a doofus featured in it makes it that much better.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

What is the point of getting to know them from afar? They are actors, presenting a version of themselves for marketing their brand. They don't want to know about you.

cause it's more conducive to not being fixated on appearance, to get to know them or at least not dismiss them out of hand as vapid, and only worth their appearance. i thought that was what you were hoping for us, at some point.

It's good that the men here are taking it seriously, though. In defense of women and not just bandwagoning. Love you too, Luna. As for me, it's always been eye of the beholder. I have been attracted to most women of every race, size, physically, some more than others. Each have their merits. There have been some I just haven't clicked with though. The eyes catch your attention, but it's the personality that hooks you. Get to know them, decide if they are the right person for you. I've had more misses than hits, but made a lot of friends. I have good taste, most of the time. Bottom line, to each their own, we are attracted to different types and not just the physical, but the total package. Mind, body and soul. And there are some who have that in spades. *ahem*

Pfft! I want to keep on shopping around for John Wick!
Also I think John Wick would be at tranny level according to video chart. :P
