Happy VD!
Happy VD!
I entered two stories into another contest. The winners get their stories featured as a podcast/radio show type thing in a video game, a copy of the video game, and a copy of the voice over person reading your story.
I sent two, but I like one way more than the other. I still don't expect either one to be picked, but I entered! and now I'm panicking.
Also, I found out about the contest two days before the deadline, but I managed to write two half-way decent stories in two days

because you've seen mainstream horror and didn't care for it, or because you just assumed it was all garbage and passed on it? if it's the former, then that is completely valid.showa58taro wrote:I’ve been notoriously off mainstream horror for this decade. Half and half. I wasn’t blown away by ones I saw. But I avoided by default a lot of the possession and child-related horror films.zombie wrote:because you've seen mainstream horror and didn't care for it, or because you just assumed it was all garbage and passed on it? if it's the former, then that is completely valid.showa58taro wrote:I’ve been notoriously off mainstream horror for this decade. most of my favorites, off of the top of my head, are not about possession, and aren't really child related.showa58taro wrote:Half and half. I wasn’t blown away by ones I saw. That’d be my type of list too. Loving the likes of Train To Busan, It, I Saw The Devil etc. others not so much.

Re: Happy VD!
I Saw The Devil and Train to Busan is right at the top of 2010's for me.
Re: Happy VD!
it would be very near the top of my list.
Re: Happy VD!
It Follows probably wins for me.
Re: Happy VD!
cabin in the woods and american mary are still my top two, of course.
Re: Happy VD!

I'd go I saw the Devil and Let Me In as my top two, probably.
I really want to put Cabin in the Woods up there. I still love it, but the more I think about it, the more I *hate* that they made Hemsworth's death a complete throw away because of an unnecessary scene early on. Remove that one scene and it's easily my favorite of recent releases.

Re: Happy VD!
i'm gonna have to see i saw the devil again, to know if i appreciate it better. and let me in would make my top 10 of the 2010s.
Re: Happy VD!
This discussion begs for a top ten from the 2010's thread
Re: Happy VD!
after thinking about it more, i'm having trouble settling on a top 10.
Re: Happy VD!
also, i'm starting to see the shape of water show up on horror lists. (particularly valentine-y related lists) is it really horror?
Re: Happy VD!
Happy VD to anybody affected by it.
