J.D. Vance = Trump's VP

It will get heated. Can't take it, don't open the forum.

Take a drink every time Harris or Walz uses the media buzzword "weird" in the debates. :P
it's an effective way to troll the right. they've been doing that for years to the dems and the left.

don't cry cause you can't take it! :P
I'm just making an excuse to get plastered. Don't be weird.

I have to admit I don't know a lot about Walz, but off the top of my head, I have nothing against him (aside from the fact he's a Democrat and is running with Harris).

I doubt the pick will matter much - I've become increasingly convinced in the last week that Harris is going to breeze to a victory, and while it might be close in total vote counts, electorally, I think she has it in the bag.

Which is a damn disappointment, because the only thing I really care about is increased third party and independent vote shares, and I don't know if we'll be able to match a 50% increase from 2016's totals if we keep on this track (especially with the pathetic nature I've seen recently from RFK Jr.).

I still have it going to Trump. I don't know if Harris can get the electoral votes but it's gonna be real close. Maybe if she blows him out in a debate it could swing and she has to have the national media shelter her from any real policy questions. They were most likely going to do that anyway.

Harris just needs to get Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and they will get the 270 they need. Hillary didn’t think the Midwest was important, I expect a full court press in those three states. Things are trending well in all three since Biden dropped out but Pennsylvania is both the most important and the tightest in polls.

In order for a third party candidate to even have a chance, we would need to get rid of the electoral college. Good luck with that, though, as the people that can do that love the status quo.

Indeed. Best I can do is keep voting third party, encouraging others to do so, and slowly die in this capitalist hell-hole both liberals and conservatives call "the best country on Earth."

Boxes he checks:

1. Popular with both the center and left of the Party, a frequently divided coalition

2. Very popular with his constituents in Minnesota as governor

3. Rose through the ranks as a Democrat in a historically red district, so he has proven he can connect with rural voters

4. Outdoors-y “man’s man” type rather than the pencil-neck lawyer profile that typically dominates the Democrats and is disliked by most working class voters

5. Very effective communicator, great on TV

Trump is now just writing angry fan fiction about Biden getting back in the race lmao. They have completely unraveled since Biden dropped out. Harris now leading polls with independents.

He's a bit of a socialism shill and a pander pick to try to get the Muslim vote in a crucial state imo.

Also, the notion that Tampon Tim is a man's man is one of the most awful takes this board has ever seen.

I was vaguely aware of some of this stuff, but a decent presentation nonetheless. Worth a watch if you're open minded.

His actual voting record is basically as centrist as it gets. But conservatives always accuse every Democrat of being a radical communist, it’s just funny at this point. The punches don’t land. America likes Tim Walz. Great pick.

What I've seen doesn't reflect that. he's fairly split in favorable and unfavorable and in the overall, the overwhelming majority (71%) don't know who he is. He allowed Minnesota to burn, which is a big no-no. You can't trust this dude to protect the country.

Walz isn't a socialist. If he was, I might consider voting for the ticket, as absolutely horrible as Harris is.

Signed, a socialist who is voting for Claudia De la Cruz, an actual socialist.

Pure socialism, like pure anything(including capitalism), isn't something I agree with. Some socialist programs are great though, so I don't see why people freak out about it. Social security, medicare/medicaid, snap(which personally helped me to survive being unemployed), etc. are all great. People just seem to be very self-focused, so if they don't use a program, they see it as a scam.

No he didn’t. This is another bad right wing talking point that isn’t working. He sent in the National Guard when the mayors requested help. Even your guy Trump was praising him in 2020 for how he handled the protests. It is very funny that Trump is now changing his stance on this in hindsight, but the public record shows he could not have praised Walz more when the situation was actually playing out. In which case, I guess we can’t trust Trump to protect the country.
