Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
some drama going on between Pat Noble and Bill Stodden. exciting stuff, brahs.
In all seriousness, I'm rather disappointed with Stodden's campaign. He's the nominee of Socialist Party USA (SPUSA, for short), and while their nominee in 2016 (Mimi Soltysik) wasn't entirely to my liking, at least Soltysik got some ballot access, whereas Stodden has exactly none at the current moment. Given Stodden's a leftist veteran, I find the fact he can't make any type of dent disappointing, especially given both Jill Stein (Green Party) and Claudia De la Cruz (Party for Socialism and Liberation) have some momentum behind them.

what is the policy difference between the socialist party and the party for socialism and liberation?
Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
RFK Jr. will be addressing the nation on his next steps at a rally in Arizona on Friday. Donald Trump is also set to speak at an event in Arizona on Friday. Looking like RFK is gonna drop out and endorse Trump.

Not surprising, his campaign was laughably bad and he was going to steal more voters from Trump.

Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
Yeah. Aggregated polling suggested he was likely taking a bit more from Trump than Harris.

Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
SPUSA have no democratic centralism, which is an outlier for leftist parties (although I admit it's one of the reasons I was briefly a member). Otherwise, I can't say it matters much, as Stodden's not likely to make any ballots.
That said, I wouldn't have been against voting Stodden if he were the only option here, but luckily, with as terrible as Indiana's ballot access is, at least a few good candidates were certified as write-ins.
On a side-note, Mimi Soltysik (the 2016 SPUSA nominee) was a certified write-in here, whereas Stodden apparently didn't, or couldn't, do the same.

Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
Nah celebrities are just extremely vain selfish individuals who don’t mind surrounding themselves with bad people until it’s uncouth publicly.
Trump was always awful. He definitely misses hanging out with celebs like Oprah, Madonna etc. though. That has always been the crowd he wants to associate with and he surely misses it. He hates his core supporters. He wouldn’t let them anywhere near him privately. It probably eats at him that these are the people who love him the most.

Yes. All he wants is to be accepted and liked by other wealthy celebrities, almost all of whom are liberal.Jason wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 11:33 pmHeadhunter wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 11:15 pmTrump was always awful. The sacrifice he made for power is that most of the people who worship him are people he finds distasteful and low class.

Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
How is that in any way a conspiracy, it’s just an accurate evaluation of how Trump views people. Do you think Trump would rather go to a fashion magazine party in a Manhattan penthouse, or out shooting beer cans with some rednecks? This is pretty obvious

His sons are avid hunters and he's a lifelong superfan of combat sports, promoting and attending boxing/UFC events for decades. Odd interests from someone who only wants to hangout at fashion parties with pretentious drugged out retards.Headhunter wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 6:29 pm How is that in any way a conspiracy, it’s just an accurate evaluation of how Trump views people. I feel like the accurate evaluation of Trump can be through observing the behavior of many who adored him before he announced he was running as a Republican. He was almost universally loved before he got into the entertainment era. He seems pretty honest in terms of his goals as president and he's got RFK Jr. on board. I'm pretty much all in.

Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
He himself does not hunt and he has been on record about detesting the fact that his sons hunt. And was even quoted yelling at Don Jr. in his office about it. His Beavis and Butthead loser sons are try-hard conservatives, yes. He is not. How does the UFC/boxing do anything but make my point? Those events are always full of liberal celebrities wanting to be seen by the cameras, which fits his vain personality. Certainly not an indicator of conservatism unless you think every celebrity is a conservative.Jason wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 6:41 pmHis sons are avid hunters and he's a lifelong superfan of combat sports, promoting and attending boxing/UFC events for decades. He was not universally loved at any time. Most people viewed him as a shallow and narcissistic piece of shit. But he had no effect on anyone’s lives so you could treat him like an entertaining TV villain. That’s not love.

All he really wants to do is be a gossipy New York queen. It’s a pretty specific subset of straight men who openly whine about a Vanity Fair Oscars party not being “hot” anymore.
The only conservatives Trump wouldn’t find personally revolting are the uber-wealthy ones (who also generally find other conservatives to be revolting and have more in common with wealthy liberals).

Holy shit the Trump/RFK rally in Arizona is fantastic. Far more transparency here than we've ever seen in our lifetimes regarding political campaigns.
Let's just hope they don't rig it again.

Re: Trump Assassination Attempt Discussion
And you can take the last bit directly from my professional experiences. I had both wealthy conservative and wealthy liberal clients (you know who one of them is). They both talk about the majority of conservatives like they are disgusting zoo animals. There really isn’t much difference, the conservatives just put tax breaks above everything while the liberals have a self-gratifying desire to let everyone know they are so thoughtful. Both groups couldn’t have worse things to say about the average conservative.
Personally I think a lot of their attitudes are actually pretty gross and often unfair and revealing of their own hypocrisies and moral rot. But yeah this is exactly how Trump feels about the majority or his constituents.
