Starting mine with 1984 (hope I got this formula right, looked confusing)
1. Ghostbusters
2. Spider-Man 2
3. Beverly Hills Cop
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom
6. Guardians of the Galaxy
7. The Karate Kid
8. The Incredibles
9. Gone Girl
10. Revenge of the Nerds
Was impressed to see Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter was the 26th highest grosser of 1984 though. Bummed that The Terminator was just #21

Never really thought about Desert Island movie. I'm assuming the movies you can watch over and over and never get sick of?

Desert island is just a simple way of "you only get 10 forever". Forget necessarily best of vs. favorite vs. bucket list flick or some shit, you get 10 choose em however you like. So I just remind zombs and such, it's only gonna be you and the flicks on the island, Imma be over Saving Private Ryan pretty fucking quick.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Never really thought about Desert Island movie. Well yeah. I already know some musicals will sneak in for you and all of Rebecca DeMornay's resume will be in Jason's.zombie wrote:the exercise, sure. but if you asked me to choose that way for a real desert island trip, i would cheat.Reign in Blood wrote:That was the whole point of the exercise.zombie wrote:which is why i wouldn't base my choices on boxoffice or by specific years.Reign in Blood wrote:Desert island is just a simple way of "you only get 10 forever". Rewatchability is 90% of the equation here. With that in mind, here's my 10:
It's a Wonderful Life
Rio Bravo
The Godfather
Caddyshack
Goodfellas
Dazed and Confused
Pulp Fiction
Casino
Boogie Nights
The Big Lebowski
It's a Wonderful Life

Not removing until John Elway is fired.

I wasn't sure if you were ranking your specific favorites for the order, or the box office represented the order. So I just compared it with my favorites (via my Flickchart list lol) and went from thereReign in Blood wrote:Did it right, what was confusing?DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Starting mine with 1984 (hope I got this formula right, looked confusing)

Yeah, it's going to be a tough one to narrow down for me. Though I'm sure The Road Warrior is on my 10 most rewatchable/Desert Island movies. It's the rest I gotta figure out.Headhunter wrote:Rewatchability is 90% of the equation here. With that in mind, here's my 10:
